Ancient Street
China, an East Asian country is one of the world’s oldest civilizations. It has a vast cultural history of more than five thousand years and an outstanding natural beauty. On the other hand, this country has remained a comparatively isolated and secluded one, and being a land of mystery, this country is not known to the western half of the world. However, China is rapidly developing and has grown in the phase of modernization, with an immense speed and is also welcoming the outer world to interact and do business with them. Ancient Street begins next to the bridge in Huangshan Beilu and runs along the north bank of the Xinan River for 1.5 kilometers. Initially built over 700 years ago during the Song dynasty from 960 to 1279, the street is bordered by some buildings from this period, but more visibly by buildings from the Ming and Qing dynasties from 1368 to 1911. There are several old shops lining the streets that remind a long-gone age. Shops and stalls sell a fascinating mix of antiques and ornaments that include brushes, ink stones, Mao badges, local teas and advertising posters from the 30s. There are in addition a lot of small food vendors and some superb dumpling restaurants as well. Ancient Street is definitely one of the popular tourist attractions in China. It is worth paying a visit while touring the country. This place will leave a pleasing and unforgettable memory and justify the proud cultural tradition of China.
