Bird Street
China, an East Asian country is one of the world’s oldest civilizations. It has a vast cultural history of more than five thousand years and an outstanding natural beauty. On the other hand, this country has remained a comparatively isolated and secluded one, and being a land of mystery, this country is not known to the western half of the world. However, China is rapidly developing and has grown in the phase of modernization, with an immense speed and is also welcoming the outer world to interact and do business with them. Bird Street is one of the popular tourist attractions in China. The street has stalls selling row upon row of birds in beautifully lacquered traditional Chinese birdcages. Formerly, located in the heart of Mong Kok, Bird Street shifted to its current home in Prince Edward in 1997. Located at the end of the Flower Market, Bird Street is popular with seniors who enjoy displaying and comparing their feathered friends. Chinese bird lovers value both the physical beauty of the birds and the quality of their song. All kinds of beautiful birds can be found here including macaws, songbirds, mynahs, cockatiels and starlings. Chirpy melodies fill the narrow stalls. Another interesting side of Bird Street is the opportunity to see the amazing sight of the birds feeding upon chopped grasshoppers, crickets and even tiny green snakes. Bird Street, justifiably so, enjoys a very positive reputation with worldwide travelers, and is one of the most visited place.
