Confucius Mansions

Confucius Mansions were built over 2,000 years ago to house Confucius descendants, the Kong family. It is a noble manor representing the typical government with inner house in Chinese feudal society. With an area of more than 240 mu, measurement units, the Confucius' Mansion has 463 halls, main rooms, buildings, lofts and all kinds of constructions, the mansions are split into 3 sections, central, eastern and western. In the backyard are the charming gardens.
Bordering the inner house, at the front, is the government section having three halls and six main rooms, the Largest Hall, the Second Largest Hall, the Third Largest Hall, the Guangou Main Room, the Baihu Main Room, the Zhiyin Main Room, the Zhangshu Main Room, the Dianji Main Room and the Sile Main Room, at the back is the inner house, up front there are the house and hall building and at the back there are the hall building and five rooms. The central area was the living quarters and offices, such as the Zhongshu Hall, the Anhuai Hall. In the western layout is the place where Confucius studied knowledge, poem, etiquette and created and sang poems with his descendants the south and north flower halls treated guests. The family shrines are in the eastern part such as the Baoben Hall and the Peach Temple, etc. The complex showcases a large collection of rare treasures and ancient books. The mansion stores more than 9,000 volumes of valuable Kong family archives from 1534 to 1948 and great quantities of rare and precious cultural and historical relics.
