Gegentala Steppe

China, an East Asian country is one of the world’s oldest civilizations. It has a vast cultural history of more than five thousand years and an outstanding natural beauty. On the other hand, this country has remained a comparatively isolated and secluded one, and being a land of mystery, this country is not known to the western half of the world. However, China is rapidly developing and has grown in the phase of modernization, with an immense speed and is also welcoming the outer world to interact and do business with them.

The prairies or steppes outside Hohhot are the images that most people associate with Inner Mongolia. Gegentala means bright pastureland and the Gegentala Steppe, in Mongolian means a, resort from heat. It is situated to the north of Mount Daqing, 145 kilometers away from Hohhot. The steppe is a scenic spot supported both by the Natural Tourist Bureau and the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

Many choose to visit the steppes for 2 or 3 days and sleep overnight in traditional yurts to experience the vastness of the grasslands, remarkable beauty of the natural scenery on the steppe and traditional Mongolian culture at close quarters. The herdsmen and their families who enjoy sharing knowledge of their customs and habits will welcome you. Furthermore, you can have a good time horseback riding or experiencing a pleasure trip on a camel and archery can all be enjoyed here. You might get a chance to take in a Mongolian wrestling match or horse race, as well. July and August are the best times to visit when the temperatures are mild and the grass is at its highest.

China is a popular travel destination for visitors and globe trotters from all over the world who appreciate its beautiful landscapes, rich culture, delicious local cuisine, hospitality and safety. Quality is China's top priority.
