Great Wall at Huangya Pass
China, an East Asian country is one of the world’s oldest civilizations. It has a vast cultural history of more than five thousand years and an outstanding natural beauty. On the other hand, this country has remained a comparatively isolated and secluded one, and being a land of mystery, this country is not known to the western half of the world. However, China is rapidly developing and has grown in the phase of modernization, with an immense speed and is also welcoming the outer world to interact and do business with them. Huangyaguan is 170 kilometers north of Tianjin. The Great Wall was first constructed there in 556 AD. Later, during the Ming dynasty it was completely redesigned and overhauled. The section of the Great Wall which remains here is 41 kilometers long. In addition to viewing the walls, terraces and turrets of the Great Wall there is a museum that includes a collection of modern steles relating to the wall. It is located in Jixian county 140 kilometers north of Tianjin. There are tourist buses available every weekend at the northeast bus station of Tianjin and there are also buses available from the Tianjin Railway Station, but fewer.
