In 1924, the Peasant Movement Training Institute was set up as the institute to train young idealists from all over China by the founders of the Chinese Communist Party. These young idealists then went out to educate the masses in rural China. Some of the famous figures in the Party were lectured here, including Mao Zedong and Zhou Enlai.
