Leshan Giant Buddha
China, an East Asian country is one of the world’s oldest civilizations. It has a vast cultural history of more than five thousand years and an outstanding natural beauty. The People's Republic of China, PRC comprises most of the cultural, historic, and geographic area known as China. Since its founding in 1949, it has been led by the Communist Party of China, CPC. It is the world's most heavily populated country, with a population of over 1,300,000,000, most of who are classified as the Han Chinese ethnicity. Leshan Giant Buddha is a massive statue carved into the cliff side of Lingyun Mountain. The Buddha is over 71 meters that is 230 feet tall with 28 meter that is 92 feet wide shoulders and a 15 meter that is 49 feet tall head. More than 100 people can be seated between the Buddha’s feet. The carving of this huge statue commenced in 713 AD during the Tang dynasty and was completed only in 803 AD. The Buddha overlooks the union of the Min, Dadu and Qingyi rivers just east of Leshan and is presumed to be the main carved stone Buddha in the world.
Leshan Giant Buddha is definitely one of the popular tourist attractions in China. It is worth paying a visit while touring the country. This place will leave a pleasing and unforgettable memory and justify the proud cultural tradition of China.
