Penglai
China, an East Asian country is one of the world’s oldest civilizations. It has a vast cultural history of more than five thousand years and an outstanding natural beauty. On the other hand, this country has remained a comparatively isolated and secluded one, and being a land of mystery, this country is not known to the western half of the world. However, China is rapidly developing and has grown in the phase of modernization, with an immense speed and is also welcoming the outer world to interact and do business with them.
Penglai is one of the popular tourist attractions in China and is admired for its cultural related notion. Situated almost 65 kilometers to the northeast direction of the Yantai city, Penglai is considered to be a magical place that is often associated with legendary gods. In a popular legend, the eight immortals crossing the sea, Penglai is portrayed as a mystical wonderland.
The Penglai castle can be found on the cliff and is a complex pavilion dating from the Northern Song period and overlooks the seas. The main hall of the castle has a golden statue of the Sea Goddess, behind which is an astonishing mural of the seas, clouds and bravura dragons.
Even though Penglai meant the partial loss of its tourist profile due to urbanization, some features of its past times of splendor still remain. It also enjoys a very positive reputation with worldwide travelers, and is one of the most visited places in China.
