Sun Yatsen Mausoleum
China, an East Asian country is one of the world’s oldest civilizations. It has a vast cultural history of more than five thousand years and an outstanding natural beauty. On the other hand, this country has remained a comparatively isolated and secluded one, and being a land of mystery, this country is not known to the western half of the world. However, China is rapidly developing and has grown in the phase of modernization, with an immense speed and is also welcoming the outer world to interact and do business with them. The mausoleum of China's great revolutionary forefather, Sun Yatsen was built in 1929. It can be found on the southern slopes of Zhongshan Hill east of the city. The site covers an 80,000 square meters and has been designated a national scenic spot and historical site. The white buildings with roofs of luminous blue tiles are a striking contrast to the background green pines. From the large bronze statue at the base of the mausoleum, the memorial hall can be reached by marble steps. The hall is dominated by a big seated statue of Sun and leads to the vault where remains are buried under another marble statue of him in a reclining posture. The walls of the memorial hall show extracts from the 1912 constitution are inscribed above the burial chamber in gold on black marble. China is a popular travel destination for visitors and globe trotters from all over the world who appreciate its beautiful landscapes, rich culture, delicious local cuisine, hospitality and safety.
