Terracotta Warriors
China, an East Asian country is one of the world’s oldest civilizations. It has a vast cultural history of more than five thousand years and an outstanding natural beauty. In 1974 a group of peasants digging a well, made what was to become the greatest archaeological the 20th century when they unearthed fragments of a life sized Terra Cotta Warrior. Excavation vault revealed thousands of warriors and their horses, an entire army designed follows its emperor eternity. The site is located 1.5 kilometers east of the Qin Mausoleum. The emperor's terra cotta was found in three underground timber lined vaults. Its Pit 1 contained chariots and ranks of six thousand soldiers. Pit 2 held fourteen hundred figures of cavalrymen, horses and infantrymen, along with wooden chariots. Pit 3 contained about seventy figures. The Qin Terra Cotta Army Museum, a hangar like building constructed over Pit 1, place of the discovery in 1974 opened in 1979. Later in October 1994, Pit 2 opened to the public. The museum of Qin Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses are namely Terra Cotta Pit 1, Terra Cotta Pit 2, Terra Cotta Pit 3, Bronze Chariots, Military Formation of Terra Cotta Army, Exquisite Weaponry of Terra Cotta Army, From Rudiment to the Masterwork and Lifelike Terra Cotta Figures. Terra Cotta Warriors adds to the beauty of China and this fact has consolidated along with abroad tourists visiting the place, making it the most favorite holiday destination for most of the vacation lovers.
