Twin Pagoda Temple

China, an East Asian country is one of the world’s oldest civilizations. It has a vast cultural history of more than five thousand years and an outstanding natural beauty. On the other hand, this country has remained a comparatively isolated and secluded one, and being a land of mystery, this country is not known to the western half of the world. However, China is rapidly developing and has grown in the phase of modernization, with an immense speed and is also welcoming the outer world to interact and do business with them.

The two towers of the Twin Pagoda Temple are the symbol of Taiyuan. This temple was built completely from bricks during the Ming dynasty that lasted from 1368 to 1644 and both 13 story towers are 53 meters elevated. Each of the pagodas has 13 stories and is made entirely of bricks along with stone. Its outer surface was sculptured in the shape of an octagon and adorned with the exquisite flying eaves. An internal staircase was added so that visitors can scale to the top of the pagoda and gaze far afield.

All of the buildings in this temple were built with bricks. The brick-carved posts and brackets of the temple completely display the features of ancient Chinese architecture. It is worth mentioning that an uncommon collection of steles have been stored in the temple that include the handwriting of popular ancient Chinese calligraphers from various dynasties such as Yan Zhenqing, Wang Xizhi, Liu Zongyuan and Su Dongpo.

The Twin Pagoda Temple is definitely one of the popular tourist attractions in China. It is worth paying a visit while touring the country. This place will leave a pleasing and unforgettable memory and justify the proud cultural tradition of China.
