Wong Tai Sin Temple
China, an East Asian country is one of the world’s oldest civilizations. It has a vast cultural history of more than five thousand years and an outstanding natural beauty. On the other hand, this country has remained a comparatively isolated and secluded one, and being a land of mystery, this country is not known to the western half of the world. However, China is rapidly developing and has grown in the phase of modernization, with an immense speed and is also welcoming the outer world to interact and do business with them. Wong Tai Sin Temple is one of the popular tourist attractions in China and is admired for its cultural related notion. This temple was built in 1973 and is one of Hong Kong's most colorful, passionate temples and a major center for Daoist worship. The temple is dedicated to Wong Tai Sin, a legendary shepherd who was assumed to have the healing power. Wong Tai Sin was an extremely popular deity and his painting was brought from China in 1915 and moved to its current location 6 years later. The main hall houses his image and often has crowds of people kneeling and praying, shaking bamboo fortune sticks to predict the future. Behind the main hall is the Good Wish Gardens with pavilions, miniature waterfalls and carp filled ponds. Although the temple does not match its former glory, the Wong Tai Sin Temple is a popular travel destination for visitors and globe trotters from all over the world who appreciate its rich culture, delicious local cuisine, hospitality and safety.
