Ankang
China is a cultural region and ancient civilization in East Asia. China refers to one of the world's oldest civilizations. It comprises of states and cultures dating back, more than six millennia. The stalemate of the last Chinese Civil War following World War II has resulted in two separate states using the name China. One of them is known as the People's Republic of China, comprising of mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau and the Republic of China, which comprises of Taiwan and its surrounding islands.
Ankang is a medium sized city in Shaanxi province, in China. The first known record of Ankang, in history happened when it was placed into Xicheng prefecture of Hanchong County, during the Qin dynasty. In 1783, the place was named Ankang prefecture. The prefecture was upgraded to city in 1950, but it was demoted in 1954, while in 1988, it was promoted again. In the year 1930, the city of Ankang was known as Shingan.
Ankang is fortunate to be far enough, from Xian to minimize its level of pollution, while the city is close enough to be a mere 5 hour journey by train. The place is surrounded by several mountains. It takes half an hour bus ride from the city to reach the place. The Ankang city is a great escape from the hussle and bussle of Chinese city life.
The economy of the city is basically industrial, mainly in textile and weaving of silk products, chemical industry, building materials, food production and mining. Ankang is situated in the southern section of Shaanxi province, which is to the south of the Qinling Mountain range. The upper parts of the Han river passes through Ankang. Han River or Han Gang is a river in Korea. This river passes through Seoul and enters the Yellow Sea. Their agricultural production in food is chestnuts, oranges and kiwi fruits. Along with this, other raw paints, Silk, Kiwi fruit liquors etc. are also produced.
Ankang city represents one of the oldest civilizations. This city is surrounded by mountains which makes it very beautiful. The city is also developing in various fields. The city is developing to be a strong industrial unit with plenty of tourism. Ankang city has grown in the phase of modernization over a period of time.
