Telcogames & Abletech Create Telcogames ASIA
(PRWEB) April 26, 2005 -- Telcogames and Taiwan-based aggregator Abletech have today completed a shareholders agreement to found a new company, Telcogames ASIA.
Based in Taipei, Telcogames ASIA will not only provide mobile entertainment distribution within the Taiwan, Mainland China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, and Philippines mobile content market, but will also make local content available to users worldwide.
Telcogames ASIA joins Telcogames global network of offices that provide the company with unequaled local access to many of the world?s most significant territories for mobile entertainment and games.
Telcogames and Abletech have appointed Steven Chang as Executive Vice President and Gregory Horoupian as Managing Director of Telcogames ASIA. Well-versed in Asian mobile content markets, they will direct the localization and porting of Telcogames extensive, market-leading catalogue of content from over 65 publishers onto territory-specific mobile handsets and into local languages, as well as identifying the best local content that can be ported and released into other territories.
Abletech is an aggregator that holds unrivaled relationships with mobile carriers in Mainland China and Taiwan. The Chinese market for mobile entertainment is one of the largest in the world, with over 340 million subscribers and growing continuously.
Telcogames is a unique competitor in the global mobile entertainment arena. The company operates local offices in key territories worldwide, including, Japan, Germany, Israel, Australia, Sweden, Russia and the United Kingdom. Telcogames works with companies from individual developers to major publishers to provide global distribution through a very broad range of channels: network operators, print publications, online and mobile portals, broadcast partners and retailers. This allows content providers to maximize the potential of each title, reaching the largest possible number of users across all territories worldwide.
"Our ever-growing role in the Asian mobile content market is thrilling," said Sam Wang, Chief Executive Officer of Abletech. "We first entered this market in Taiwan and Mainland China through our long-standing relationships with mobile carriers. We've seen these territories expand, and as they continue to do so rapidly, we are pleased to have such an exceptional partner in Telcogames. Abletech's on-the-ground experience and the global reach of Telcogames are a perfect fit to push us to the forefront of mobile content distribution in Asia."
Jamie Conyngham, the Chief Executive Officer of Telcogames, said, "We are very excited about the formation of Telcogames ASIA with Abletech. Because of the agreement with Abletech, Telcogames ASIA can immediately distribute games into the Chinese and Taiwanese carriers without the time-lag of setting up contracts with each individual carrier. Additionally, Telcogames ASIA will deliver a minimum of five ported and localized games to the Asian market per month. Without local presence this is a much more onerous task because of language differences, timezone, availability of handsets, local development resources and testing within the networks. Telcogames ASIA will allow the Telcogames group to offer our publishers/developers access to China & Taiwan which they may not have themselves. In addition, Telcogames will offer a much larger quality portfolio of games to China than any individual publisher."
